Year in Review

As we conclude another meaningful year, NU Alumni looks back with pride at everything we have achieved together. This year was marked by growth, stronger connections, and impactful initiatives that brought our alumni community closer than ever.

 

 

Popularizing Nazarbayev University and Its Alumni

In 2025, NU Alumni Union actively worked to promote the achievements of Nazarbayev University and its graduates through media projects and public engagement.

Through initiatives such as NU Way, NU4U, and Alumni Spotlight, we shared alumni stories, professional journeys, and expert insights. These media projects reached a wide audience and contributed to shaping a positive public narrative around NU as an educational flagship of the country.

 

Strengthening Connections Between Alumni and the University

A key priority of the year was building a stronger, more connected alumni community.

  • A private Telegram group for verified NU alumni was launched, creating a trusted, ad-free space for professional and social interaction.

  • Alumni clubs were established to foster thematic engagement.

  • Sports initiatives brought together hundreds of alumni and students through football match visits, tournaments, and community activities.

  • Flagship events such as Ideathon 2025, Career Vector, NU Women Alumni Talks, and networking meetups strengthened collaboration between alumni, students, and partners.

These initiatives helped turn the alumni network into an active and supportive community.

 

Education and Social Impact

Education and social responsibility remained at the core of the Association’s mission.

  • Through Bolashaqqa Bir Qadam, NU alumni conducted educational trainings for rural school students, expanding access to information about higher education opportunities.
  • Laptop donation initiatives supported schoolchildren in regions.
  • The Student Emergency Fund and targeted fundraising campaigns provided critical support to NU students facing difficult life circumstances.
  • In partnership with the Mereke Foundation, the Association implemented scholarship programs supporting students in their academic and professional development.

Each of these initiatives reflected a shared commitment to equal opportunities and long-term social impact.

 

Institutional Development of the Association

2025 was also a year of internal strengthening for NU Alumni Union.

  • Governance structures were renewed, including the appointment of a new Chair of the Council and Executive Director.
  • Financial reporting was completed, transparency strengthened, and internal processes optimized.
  • The Association developed a clear work plan aligned with the University’s leadership and successfully met all contractual KPIs.
  • Digital platforms, including the website and social media channels, were reviewed and updated to better serve the alumni community.

These steps laid a strong foundation for sustainable growth and future initiatives.

 

The results of 2025 demonstrate that NU Alumni Union is not only an alumni association, but a growing platform for collaboration, mentorship, and positive change.

We thank our alumni, partners, volunteers, and the NU community for their trust and active participation. Together, we move forward to new projects, stronger partnerships, and greater impact in the years ahead.
